Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement
The Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement offers a significant continuity of experience for each student as she makes the transition from primary to post-primary. The broad range of student learning experiences, from oral presentations to project work will be reflected in class work, prescribed homework and assessment reporting. The JCPA provides choice of learning experiences in the curriculum and facilitates the development of 8 Key Skills and 24 Statements of Learning. Key skills are embedded in the learning outcomes of every junior cycle subject and short course.
Key skills help learners develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to face the many challenges in today’s world. They also support students in learning how to learn and take responsibility for their own learning. The JCPA facilitates reporting over the three years, where Classroom-Based Assessments and other areas of learning will be reported in 2nd and 3rd year.
